Joseph-Marc Coursin architecte et avocat est né à Angers où il fit ses études à l'école
des Arts et Métiers. Après un séjour en Nouvelle Calédonie, il s'installe comme architecte
à Port-Vila où il construit une partie des édifices publics du Condominium, faisant en mème
temps agent d'affaires. Il est élu en 1925 président du comité de défense des intérêts français
aux Nouvelles Hébrides. Il vendra son cabinet d'avocat - défenseur en 1930 pour s'installer à

The record holder so far for a 1911/12 stamp: 1911/12 20c, a 1924 30c overprint and a 1925 20c stamp add to 1f postage. At a 1:6 ratio after 1938 this would be
about 17gc but only 10gc were needed. Sender is the settler Henry Désiré Russet, Tagabe area. Addressee is Raymond Pognon in Noumé,a. Both were initiators
of the De Gaulle movement and were very active in 1940. The cover is backstamped on arrival NOUMEA 25 9 40. (Klinger coll.)
