Tongoa Post Office:
On 19th May, 1976 a new Post Office was opened on the island of TONGOA. To commemorate this event covers were made bearing the 1.15 gold franc stamp of the "Telephone Centenary" issue which were cancelled with the Tongoa date stamp on the opening day. They were in sets of two covers, one English and one French, and were sold for the face value of the stamps, 2.30 gold francs.
