Postcard from Yokohama to "Fila". Adressee is Mr. Roxburgh. In January 1893 Hugh Roxburgh was agent on the Australasian New Hebrides Co. Ltd. steamer Croydon and representative of this Co. in the New Hebrides, later a settler on Epi island.
The card is stamped Meiji Yokohama ? July 1893, Hongkong July 25 93 and backstamped Sydney AU 23 93.

A.L Owens whom the return journey on 21.02.35 waS his last on board the ship.
Turned into a troopship ORFORD was bombed and damaged by Luftwaffe aircraft
in Mediterranean Sea off Marseille whilst evacuating Allied troops and was beached

1935: Theodor Reimer owned a Hamburg transport & shipping Company which exists until today. There exists a 1891 cover to him send from his wife which travelled after him all over the world. I suppose that he was a stamp collector and exchanged stamps with Roger Desestre.

The other way round for a change: The letter above maybe was the reaction to this one:
Letter to Mr. Peythieux on the Polynésien in Port Vila. The 1F75c French
stamps are cancelled in Valence Gare, Drôme. The letter has the exact instruction
as to the transport: with paquebot "Commissaire Ramel" from Marseille on June 27.
The sender is given as J. Chauvin, 65 rue chateauvert, Valence, only a couple of

The travel time 3 months shows haw heavyly disrupted postal service was at
the end of the war in Europa.
